SEM EDS

The Scientific-Didactic Scanning Microscopy and Microanalysis Laboratory is a unit in the Faculty of Geographical and Geological Sciences run by the Institute of Geology.

The Lab is equipped with a scanning electron microscope (SEM) and an energy dispersive X-ray spectrometer (EDS) microanalyser.

The Scientific-Didactic Scanning Microscopy and Microanalysis Laboratory was established in July 2008. Since then it has been used to give many staff training courses and present the SEM-EDS research possibilities during the open days of the Faculty laboratories. Conducted here are also some of the classes for geology students (“Methods in the study of rocks and minerals” and “Technical and experimental petrography”).
